In 1954, God gave Oklahoma basketball coach Don McClanen a vision: coaches and athletes impacting lives for Christ. This stirring led to a movement and the founding of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Now, 65 years later, we are still fulfilling the vision and following the Great Commission as we use the vehicle of sports to make Christ’s name known.
We’ve reached millions of people with the Gospel through our priority of putting the Word of God into each competitor’s hands. It’s God’s Word that compels us to keep going until the whole world hears the good news.
The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 doesn’t only rally us, but it tells us to teach all who hear the message to obey. We use God’s playbook, the Holy Bible, to share the life-changing message of salvation. For 65 years, it has been our priority to go into the world and make Him known and “make disciples who are making disciples.”
Let’s celebrate what God has done this past year while also looking ahead to how we can continue to fulfill the vision for current and future generations.

A Message From Our President…
Go. Make disciples. Teach. Jesus commissioned His followers for a purpose: to teach His ways to the whole world so others can know and grow in relationship with Him. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes responds to this commission with “Let’s Go!” This rally cry sounded in our 2019 camps and echoed throughout the FCA ministry in 2019 as we made and discipled more coaches and athletes to influence the world. FCA engaged millions with the Gospel, equipped them with God’s Word, and empowered disciples to make disciples.
Your investment in coaches and athletes make you an important part of God’s movement to influence the world with the gospel. In 2019, we reached over two million coaches and athletes, discipling them into growing relationships with Jesus Christ. You can celebrate with us that 50,577 faith decisions were made through FCA last year with your help.
Peace and blessings,

Highlights
“We support FCA because the ministry pours into coaches and athletes so they know they aren’t alone. FCA helps them learn how much of a factor God is in their lives, which includes their sport.”

FCA Game Plan
Vision
To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
Mission
To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
Values
Our relationship will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.
Strategy
We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of ministering “to and through the coach.”
Methods
As FCA matures, we seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.
Engage (1 Thessalonians 2:8)
We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.
Equip (Ephesians 4:12)
After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and ongoing support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing in God’s Word and applying it to life.
Empower (2 Timothy 2:2)
Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.
The FOUR:
The FOUR is a new initiative at FCA that gives our staff and volunteers a simple, relevant, repeatable way to clearly communicate the Gospel in four biblical truths within our disciple-making efforts.
GOD LOVES YOU
God made you and loves you! His love is boundless and unconditional. God is real, and He wants you to personally experience His love and discover His purpose for your life through a relationship with Him. – Genesis 1:27, John 3:16
Sin Separates You
Sin damages your relationships with other people and with God. It keeps us from experiencing the fulfilling life that God intends for us. The result: you are eternally separated from God and the life He planned for you. – Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Isaiah 59:2
Jesus Rescues You
Jesus died, but He rose to life again. Jesus offers you peace with God and a personal relationship with Him. Through faith in Jesus, you can experience God’s love daily, discover your purpose and have eternal life after death. – 1 Peter 3:18, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Romans 5:8
Will You Trust Jesus?
You choose to trust Jesus when you believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and surrender your life to Him. Are you ready to place your trust in Jesus? – Romans 10:9-10, John 1:12, Rev 3:20, Ephesians 2:8-9
“FCA is a great way to fellowship and get to know a lot of people with different backgrounds and upbringings and stories of how they came to Christ.
We’re a family.”

It’s stories like these that bring the world-wide wonders of God’s movement to life. Through all these avenues of our ministry, here’s the heart of it all:
Commitments to Christ
“I’m amazed at how impactful our strategy of ‘To and Through the Coach’ truly is. Everyday, God’s grace is unfolding as we engage, equip and empower coaches in a city where trust is difficult to build.”
